Description of Role:

Cognizant is seeking an Associate Director (AD) to establish and manage the PPM CoE as enabling domain of the global Technology Transformation Office. The Transformation Office oversees 3 large programs:  IT/CS Remediation & Modernization, Core Transformation (primarily HR & Finance) and Strategic Alignment of the organization to supporting Cognizant’s 3-year strategy.

This position will be responsible for managing day to day PPM technology and operations enabling the IT/CS Remediation, Modernization and Digitalization programs. The AD will also support Technology Transformation leadership by developing operational reporting on the health of key Modernization & Digitization programs. The AD will also be responsible for the day to day management and oversight of third-party contractors brought to support the IT/CS Remediation & Modernization Program. Furthermore, the AD will serve as a liaison across stakeholders (business, IT, Risk, Security, Data) helping with defining remediation requirements, developing remediation and go-forward plans, driving resolution of operational remediation program issues.

The role will report to the Global Leader of Strategy and Transformation, PPM Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enable Global Strategy and Transformation cross functional Corp teams to capture, organize, and manage project data and to support resource managers and PMs in managing project resources and priorities.
  • Drive PPM strategic roadmap delivery, and enable ePMO processes guidance, and tool deployment and administration.
  • Ensure alignments across project, program, and portfolio management stakeholders. Provide insights and guidance on PPM enablement best practices based on industry standards and frameworks. Instill quality and consistency across delivery activities.
  • Standardize the management of project plans across stakeholders and develop prioritized timelines to align with overall PPM maturity goals.
  • Provide PPM system functional SME, impact assessment, sizing, design, and configuration expertise. Proactively identify and escalate risks, issues and concerns to program and portfolio leadership.
  • Establish PPM operational reporting platform and strategic dashboards.
  • Provide PPM system training for new capabilities, end user on-boarding and refreshers.
  • Provide guidance to third party resources supporting project and program efforts.
  • Support leadership with program financials reporting and participate in budgeting activities.
  • Design and deploy centralized and consistent PPM processes, tools and templates to support the effective execution of Remediation and Modernization efforts.
  • Support program leadership with the preparation of communications and presentations for Cognizant senior leadership.

PROFILE:

The successful AD will be an experienced project and program technical architect leader with proven ability to operate effectively in a complex, customer-focused, and evolving environment. S/he will have a demonstrated ability to design solutions and manage the execution of complex technology multi-stakeholder initiatives and deliver high quality results. The AD will exhibit excellent leadership skills to leverage the capabilities of peers, business partners, and associates, and should possess the confidence and poise to influence the executive leadership team and various external stakeholders. Strong business judgment, analytical acumen, and communication skills are essential. Equally important is a high degree of emotional intelligence, good team dynamics, and an ability to be effective at all levels of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical depth regarding PPM frameworks, industry standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Extensive industry expertise across project/program management, resource management and project financial requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, project management experience, and delegation skills, while working with a diverse set of stakeholders and varied projects.
  • Experience working with corporate leaders and stakeholders working at different degree of delivery maturity and driving Program and Portfolio Management alignment and integration across corporate silos.
  • Experience in developing and delivering PPM Management training, as well as awareness material to wide range of corporate audiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA or Masters in CS preferred but not required.
  • At least 8 years of experience managing, consulting, or working in the fields of global PPM, ePMO, Program Management enablement technology, processes, delivery, and operations.
  • Experience managing, and/or implementing transformation capabilities and/or functions at an enterprise level.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and to interact effectively at all levels of the organizations and to influence senior management and executives.
  • Passion and expertise in program management technology domain with an ability to be confident, respectful, and articulate when registering dissenting or unpopular opinions.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-visibility and high-impact projects while maintaining superior results.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, individually, and leading a team.
