Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced Team Manager for the Batch Monitoring team in Mainframe Services. Team manager for mainframe batch operations is responsible to operate and run mainframe batch to ensure service availability 24/7. The position holder to deliver continuous availability of critical services dependent on batch (example clearing, bookkeeping etc.) with the help of 24/7 monitoring team. Managing mainframe batch operations requires keen focus towards customer service availability, with a continual focus on building and iterating towards high performing teams. There is also a requirement to show career path to make them talent feeders to the rest of the organization.
Mainframe operations cover –
- Batch Monitoring: providing 24/7 monitoring and Level 1 support for mainframe batch jobs, including the business-critical services.
- Change implementation: Implementing planned changes raised by developers across the bank. This involves, liaising with the change owners to understand the change plan, executing the change within the scheduled window time and co-ordination with the requestor for post implementation checkouts, raise alarm in case of issues with the change. Educate / empower the team for performing emergency changes, break/fix.
- Incident management: Keep a strict vigil on all incidents and tracking it to closure. Ensure adequate staffing for all major severity issues (mainframe and non-mainframe related) and decide on escalation to next level teams.
- Documentation: Ensure repetitive process / procedures are agreed and documented with a periodic review Shift left: Build team capability, look for automation of repetitive tasks, noise reduction which would free up time/ capacity to shift left high value work from batch planning team.
