Job Description


Key responsibilities on client engagement as a Retail consultant would include the following,

  1.  Manage key accounts for consulting including planning for sales targets, identifying focus areas of growth and defining action plans.
  2.  Work closely with the Partners, Practice Leadership team, Infosys sales teams and delivery units to build relationships and ensure consulting services are pitched for the right opportunities.
  3. Grow existing accounts: Build and manage pipeline for consulting business for the accounts you manage and report on progress against sales targets on weekly/b-weekly basis.
  4. Open new account: Leverage Client and industry networks to open new accounts for consulting and create new revenue streams.
  5. Work with other consulting horizontals (AI&A, OCM, SCM) to create joint GTM that are relevant and proactively take them to various client logos.
  6. As consulting lead on key accounts, work closely with clients in retail or consumer goods industry to understand the strategy and vision and accordingly align with larger transformation initiatives to create new opportunities for consulting. Example: strategy assessment for workforce modernization, roadmap for technology modernization or process blueprinting for supply chain transformation or building product backlog for warehouse management program.
  7. Lead large engagements to define vision and strategy for various Retail and consumer goods.
  8. Alternatively, scan the operations, identify key personas, and come up with challenges and bottlenecks, define process blueprint, finalize TO-BE capabilities, and come up with a technology roadmap to address challenges and scale operations.
  9. Research and benchmark different aspects of retail operations to suggest new innovations and best practices that helps retail brands stay ahead in the game.

Technical and Professional Requirements:

  1. MBA from Tier 1 or Tier 2 B-school with minimum 15+ years of experience in Retail or consumer goods Industry or Bachelor of Engineering from top Universities with minimum of 18 years of experience.
  2. Should have led large consulting teams on client engagement and managed key account with sales and revenue targets.
  3. Experience in one or more of the specified areas of Retail or consumer goods consulting/ running business functions or equivalent experience in Brick & Mortar, Omnichannel or ecommerce.
  4. Certification: Specialization in Retail Operations, Point of Sale, store back-office systems, Trade promotions, ERP, Buying & Merchandizing or Store Management is an added advantage.
  5. Strong communication skills and should be comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders both in person and remotely.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Comfortable working with complex stakeholders set up – Business Leads, Business SME, IT Teams, Testing, Architects and Market Teams
  2. Knowledge of IT, Solutions-oriented approach, and entrepreneurial mindset
  3. Knowledge of Optimization techniques, applying AI/ML, Automation or advanced analytics for smarter operations and productivity improvements is a plus
  4. Knowledge of enterprise scale platforms used in Retail or consumer goods including (ERP like SAP S/4, MSD, POS systems, OMS platforms like Sterling Commerce, Hybris etc. Merchandizing & Financial Planning, Assortment planning tools, Planograming tools, Inventory management tools TPM platforms like CAS, Kantar; WM solutions like SAP EWM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder) is a big plus.
