Do you want to enable Copilots to be able to engage users around the world on any platform, including the web, Teams, Facebook, Slack, and IVR voice systems? The Azure Bot Service team, which is part of Microsoft Copilot Studio, is a global, distributed Azure service responsible for delivering over 3 billion messages each month by leveraging highly scalable, multi-tenant, secure channel services that make connecting your copilots to users simple. We are looking for an exceptional product manager who is passionate about our vision to enable copilots to engage with users in meaningful and robust ways. Copilots are a multi-billion-dollar opportunity for Microsoft and Azure Bot Service supports the Citizen Application Platform (CAP) aka Power Platform, pro-developers building on top of Azure, as well as extensions to M365 through Teams and Outlook. Together, this allows Azure Bot Service to both generate its own revenue for Microsoft as well as to drive revenue through M365 and Power Platform licenses.

The Azure Bot Service team seeks an individual who can be the primary product manager for the product. Collaboration is at our core, valuing every team member’s input. As a Bot Service product manager, you’ll be the top of the funnel and primary driver of prioritization for requirements from Azure, from internal partners such as Copilot Studio, Microsoft Teams, and Dynamics Customer Service, and from external customers. You’ll partner with your engineering teams to generate clarity for requirements; manage expectations with requestors/partners. You’ll be participating in Azure and the Citizen Application Platform rhythms of business, and become a domain expert on your usage and business to be able to represent the Bot Service product.

Knowledge of Azure or similarly scaled services is a plus, as is experience delivering world-class distributed services using including security and privacy reviews, service deployment/SDL, least privilege operational processes, customer-centric support. Required Qualifications: 

  • Do you have a BS/MS degree or 6+ years of related work experience?
  • Minimum 6+ years product management experience
  • Do you have 6+ years of experience delivering commercial software products?
  • Do you have 6+ years of experience in at least one of the following: C#, Java, C++, distributed systems, REST APIs, web services?
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience with scalable cloud services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualification: 

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required.
  • 6+ years of industry experience in product management of services, successfully shipping services through multiple releases.
  • The ideal candidate is an experienced Product Manager with a proven track record of delivering products.
  • Familiarity with chat bots and NLP concepts is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform or equivalent.
  • Experience with analytics reporting tools and the ability to define/use analytics tools to understand and report on usage
  • Experience working with pro-code customer personas such as software developers, systems engineers, security personnel
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work in a dynamic/agile environment.
  • Self-motivated and customer focused.

  • Collaborate with partner teams (Azure, Microsoft Product Groups ) to deliver end-to-end systems and experiences.
  • Ingest, understand and prioritize incoming compliance, security, and fundamentals requests from Azure.
  • Monitor and measure usage of the Bot Service product by customers and partners, and provide reporting to leadership of same.
  • Partner with Azure support to help drive improvements to content, support materials and provide training that makes for more support engagements.
