As a Microsoft Technology Consulting Manager for Infrastructure and Security CoE, you will be managing a team of technical consultants, ensure the team meets the forecast utilization and hygiene commitments and will ensure a structured readiness for the team based on current and forecasted demand. You will drive the CoE key focus areas for “Innovation”, “Technology Leadership”, “Delivery Quality” and “People Excellence”. This role specifically focusses on driving Technical leadership, including quality, across the Infrastructure & Security CoE.

Qualifications: 

  • 12+ Years of industry experience
  • Tech or Master’s degree
  • 5 years of experience managing at least 20 direct reports
  • Technology experience across Microsoft Platform a plus

Responsibilities:

The Technology Consulting Manager (TCM) drives customer satisfaction and services revenue by providing our consulting teams with direction and guidance. Successful TCMs possess passion, vision and experience in the Technology Industry, and are able to lead a team of professional to build, educate, and grow their technical and industry consulting expertise. TCMs must have technology and industry knowledge, help us analyze gaps in our current team composition & skills, and build a roadmap to fill the gaps.

The TCM is key to guiding team members in career development, improving our consulting and technology skills, and coaching individual team members to help them meet their business commitments. In addition, the TCM will work with his/her peer managers and team member to improve the overall workgroup health, and bring a stronger sense of focus and excellence to our business

  • Meet billable utilization goals for CoE
  • Participate in Area resource and capacity planning processes, analyze skill gaps and develop plans to re-skill or adjust consultant resource levels
  • Drive technical and professional role readiness across their team
  • Conduct performance management; direct, coach, assess impact, reward, and discipline
  • Regularly perform team meetings & 1:1s with his/her employees
  • Provide regular feedback to his/her employees on quality, timeliness, customer impact and team impact
  • Conduct performance review (twice a year), including managing promotions, good attrition and bad attrition
  • Fulfill administrative responsibilities related to time/expense approval, leave approvals and Consultant engagement feedback etc.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement aligning to Microsoft Values, while making decisions
  • Collaborate with various function @ Microsoft to develop a sound skill and employee development roadmap based on business need
  • Continuously collect employee feedback from stakeholders. Provide personalized learning/development roadmap through coaching/mentoring and training based on feedback
  • Effectively manage team conflicts and demonstrate quick and sound decision making capabilities to maintain a good team health
  • Represents his/her team in all forums and drives/market his/her team’s capabilities

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Domain knowledge/experience in Infrastructure and Security delivery
