The Role:

The Solutioning leader is responsible for Cognizant’s central Global solution Architecture. The Solutioning leader will lead the central solution team globally; own and lead differentiated solutions for complex deals and will create and deploy repeatable solution constructs for deal pursuits. The Solutioning leader mentors, measures and incentivizes the central solutioning SME pool at Cognizant L level comprising of Solution Architects and SMEs coming from individual Practice areas. This team is the glue between sales and delivery: “they develop unique solutions that help us win.”

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Large Deals Solutioning in NA. The Solutioning leader will lead a large deals solution team supporting NA geo.
  • Will own and lead differentiated solutions for complex deals and will create and deploy repeatable solution constructs for deal pursuits.
  • The Solutioning leader mentors, measures and incentivizes the central solutioning SME pool comprising of Solution Architects and SMEs supporting NA large deals work.
  • Engage senior clients through workshops/digital dialogues/demos/PoCs to explore opportunities and better define the desired business outcomes; Support customers in imagining how solution can support and improve their business
  • Credentialize deals with customers through deep subject matter expertise and experience in the markets (industry / geo)
  • Manage a team of Solution Architects to solution customer needs that are BAU / multi-practice in nature, triages requests from markets teams for solutioning by global team v/s SL teams, and monitor the performance of the overall conversion and solutioning success by the team
  • Support sales by translating business problems into IT solutions & work with sales leads and assists sales team in qualifying prospects
  • Ensure offerings incorporated in solutions that best address customer needs and business requirements. Demonstrate business value of proposed solutions to customers.
  •  Identification of Solution themes to develop optimal winnable and deliverable solutions, incorporating the best benchmarks and capabilities in the Industry and within Cognizant.
  • Identify opportunities for Cognizant in customer’s enterprise information technology.
  • Ensure competency development and cross-skilling of the solutioning team.
  • Work with teams in a matrixed structure to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.

Domain/Industry (Mandatory):

  • Deep knowledge of IT services/IT outsourcing globally; ability to communicate across stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze sales opportunities and qualify leads and opportunities
  • Identify and evaluate value-add alternatives and provides solutions for those alternatives.
  • Consider client’s growth path, scalability, client IT strategy and business impact.
  • Leverage Alliance partner offerings and directions, current industry trends and client facing skills with at least CIO/CTO levels.

Technology Skills (Mandatory):

  • Deep technical expertise in Functional/Practice area to bring together practice offerings to address customer needs, and to create proof of concepts if needed, as well as credentialize solutions
  • Understanding of Project management methodology, user centric design, and ability to generate, oversee actionable and impactful roadmap that effectively engages the organization to achieve strategic milestones
  • Applies broad understanding of technical innovations and trends to solving customer business problems.
  • Proven experience in managing large proposals with multi-Service lines and leading / managing Solution activities in a dynamic environment especially working in onshore/offshore model.

Required Qualifications:

  • Overall, 15 or more years of experience in large scale delivery/solutioning role with broad technical experience, with minimum 10 or more years in a senior leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, MBA, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have past experience of leading a team of Solution Architects and able to translate the business problem into solution constructs and drive multi practice technical solutioning.
