Job Purpose:
Microsoft Digital delivers the services, applications, and websites that every Microsoft employee uses in some part of their work – benefits, expenses, time & absence reporting, to name a few… as well as services that power business processes across Microsoft. We are the first to use our own technology at enterprise scale. Our early adopter experiences, as well as best practices, offer an inside view of Microsoft, which helps inform our customers how to make our technology work for them.
Within Microsoft Digital, Infrastructure & Engineering Services is the team that engineers, deploys and manages the internal Microsoft network wireless infrastructure. We deliver industry leading wireless solutions that address Microsoft business needs at a global scale. As a wireless network engineer, you are responsible for the design, deployment, and operations of network wireless devices including all the gear of wireless controllers, APs and associated tech and gear. The focus of this position is to design and deploy infrastructure solutions that provide the underpinning for client and server connectivity within the Microsoft network. This job includes interaction with multiple teams including product teams, infrastructure and security teams, and service/project management teams. Engineers are expected to adapt in a dynamic environment, work with tight timelines for project deployments, and work collaboratively with teammates.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Engineering Graduate with proven experience and success in network infrastructure space at enterprise scale. Especially in the Wireless space.
- Wifi 6 and Aruba are highly preferred.
- Knowledge on Multicast and wireless client troubleshooting skills
- In depth understanding of and experience with RF and AOS 8.x architecture.
- Troubleshooting the routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP, Static and OSPF and work with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Hands-on experience in working with tools like Service Now, Cisco prime, Cisco ISE, Aruba Airwave and Clearpass etc.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Experience with Python and Ansible preferred
- Experience using DevOps tools such as Ansible and Git
Location: We are hiring in the following locations: Hyderabad, India.
Responsibilities:
- The Network Engineer’s responsibilities include the design, installation and maintenance of Global Wireless Infrastructure
- Expertise in Aruba and Cisco gear especially Aruba and WiFI6 tech stack is mandatory.
- Proven expertise in Wide application of principles, theories and concepts of the TCP/IP protocol suite, LAN/WAN technologies, switching, routing, structured cabling, Wireless technologies, and related troubleshooting
- Hands on experience on Ekahau Site Surveys interpreting the survey reports and redesign
- Hands on experience on AOS 8.x architechture, Airwave and Clearpass.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, and connectivity failures methodologically and effectively.
- Able to provide solutions that are thorough and practicable
- Ability to aid level 1 staff as a first point of escalation during problem resolution.
