The ISV Cloud Team of the Microsoft Cloud for Industry, within the Cloud + AI engineering organization, is seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in cloud solution architecture, design and implementation, developing technically deep solutions leveraging the breadth of core cloud services across Azure, Dynamics, Teams, Fabric and Power Platform.

Qualifications:

  • Senior SWE (10+ years)]
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a technology-focused or Engineering-related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in architecting, building, shipping and operating services
  • 5 years or more of experience in building cloud-based solutions
  • Excellent at interfacing with customers on-site, and a strong desire to help them succeed
  • Deep technical development knowledge on Azure (PaaS/IaaS/SAAS), or Microsoft Power Platform or Microsoft Dynamics or similar experience with AWS/GCP
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure – compute, storage, networking and app/data services
  • Deep experience with at-least one of the following
  • Overall technical experience of about 10 years or more
    8+ years of hands-on experience programming in high level languages. C# or JAVA experience is highly desirable. Hands-on experience for the last few years is required.
    App development with cloud services, containers and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes,
    Architecting and designing scalable, reliable, available, performant web applications using the right design constructs and technology choices
    Provisioning/automation technologies like ARM/Terraform/Cloud Formation Templates or equivalent, DevOps
    Hands-on experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, debugging and resolving problems with public facing web applications.
    Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL datastores, frameworks for solution capabilities such as logging, instrumentation, dependency injection and so on.
  • Experience realizing various application/solution migration strategies (i.e. on-premises datacenters to public clouds)
  • Experience in dealing with non-functional aspects in solutions of significant scale – availability, disaster recovery, security, performance etc.
  • A positive team player rather than an outside critic, focused on conscious collaboration and customer obsession
  • Aptitude and hunger to learn and adapt to the ever-changing cloud technologies
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (e.g. knowing your audience and adjusting accordingly), articulating with courage and conviction
  • Humble and willing to learn from anyone on the team

Technical Responsibilities

  • Architecting and Designing solutions that span Microsoft clouds – Azure, Dynamics, Teams, Fabric and Power Platform.
  • Creating solutions that solve problems of availability, scale, reliability, performance, security and such and other non-functional characteristics.
  • Technically leading and guiding and engineering team focused on building scalable public facing modern architectures
  • Engaging directly helping with Microsoft’s most important Customers/ISVs in their journey to cloud and beyond
  • Working with customer/ISV to understand in-depth their technical challenges and coming up with holistic solutions to address the challenges
  • Identifying solution patterns, gaps, whitespace, limits and adoption barriers and driving feedback into the engineering teams to fuel the continued evolution of our cloud platform
  • Working on both hybrid, edge and native cloud solutions across a broad range of cloud infrastructures

Working directly with both customers/ISVs and engineering leaders alike, this role presents a robust opportunity to have a tangible impact on our cloud products and strategy, as well as fuel our customer/ISV success.  Intentional collaboration is a must in this role.  This role will be based in Bangalore with travel required likely around 20% depending on customer or project requirements. The position will require working from office 80% of the time.
