Startups represent one of the fastest-growing customer segments for cloud. The Google Cloud Startups and AI team is focused on making GCP a preferred cloud provider for startups, investment ecosystems, and Generative AI natives. The team specifically focuses on the investor ecosystem, where the goal is to establish strategic relationships with Venture Capitals (VCs) globally to make GCP the preferred platform for VC portfolios.

As the Venture Capital (VC) Business Development Manager, you will engage with the VC and startup ecosystem, focusing on early-stage VCs. In collaboration with Google teams focused on startups, you will manage GCP usage among portfolio companies through engagement, goal interventions with the VC funds, and partnerships with Google Cloud’s Startup and Sales Teams.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or partnerships, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 6 years of experience in a startup/VC related position.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing multiple evolving projects.
  • Ability to network within the early-stage VC community and tech ecosystem.
  • Ability to create compelling return on investment (ROI) value propositions.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt quickly to changing demands of the business.
  • Excellent influencing skills, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive other stakeholders without reporting authority.
  • Excellent business development skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the trusted, expert advisor and thought leader to Venture Capital (VC) General Partners.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver events, content, and offers to VCs and startups.
  • Create accessibility and ease for VCs and startups to leverage Google Cloud and Google products and services.
  • Engage the assigned portfolio of VC firms to drive pipeline and business growth opportunities for Google Cloud in partnership with the Startup Success and Sales Teams.
  • Co-lead regular reviews with VCs on their respective portfolios.
